T-Minus 30 minutes

This is what my co-host was talking about in his last post and, in many ways, I agree with him. It is a rather shameless exercise to scour through a website for all the stuff you could ever possibly want and then hit a little button so that somewhere its recorded for all to see. Like what I really need in my life right now is a hypertexted reminder of all the things that will only bring me temporary happiness. All the books, all the CDs, all the DVDs...all the stuff that I've gotten by without up until now. So this will, hopefully, be the only time I ever outright mention the wish list on the site. (I'll hide it away in my personal profile instead...heh heh heh...)

I had an excellent sit last night. An excellently relevant discussion followed, about the attachments we have to our opinions. Once again I was reminded how my own suffering is often caused by my decision to not communicate effectively. And once again I reminded that the mind can be engaged at two levels of discussion; one can be about why Kerry lost and who will run in '08 and why Bush did not win a mandate no matter what the fuck Rove has to say about it, while the other level can be about the exalted. But the sit itself was energy well spent. I knew I'd have a good sit all day long. I knew I'd have a good sit after I finished that paper. I've known all that time, what I really need to get into the habit of doing is expecting a good sit every day.

After that the three of us watched Running Out of Time, another Johnny To movie with Andy Lau in it. I "really enjoyed it" (am I using Netflix too much these days, or what?), almost more than Fulltime Killer. The humor was better, it was exciting and action-packed without getting superfluously violent, and you get to see Andy in drag!

The three of us had a good Saturday night as well. The fights were fair; several new(or rarely seen) faces took us through the evening as a lot of the bigger names were no shows (word was a LAW show was in Sanford). A new RGL tourney has started and "The Latin Sensation" Jesse Ortega advanced over 3C (Chris Collins). Jesse's Shining Wizard still looked kinda awkward, but he made up for it by springing out that Fujiwara armbar. That makes for a more "sensational" finisher in my opinion. The tag match that followed was crazy. Will Smooth is getting funnier, not uglier, which is an improvement from his earlier appearances. Tank had uncharacteristic character too. But it was pretty clear to see a helluva lotta that was off-the-cuff. Other summaries go down like this: Its always a good time to watch Stutts get beat up; the Tag Team title match was fun...the Shadow??; J Money/Alex Adonis was a notch or two better (note to Grant: not a star, I'd never think to mooch off your star system...just a notch...or two) than the main event, and I'm not just saying that because of the post-match dog-food-eating drama. But then on top of allll that, the three of us joined the rest of the guys at Rockola. That was nice. Getting to hob-knob and, in some cases, just to sit and listen...I truly dug it.
