Upcoming events at UNCG

September 7, 3:30PM: The College of Arts & Sciences Curriculum and Teaching Committee presents Peter Filene, author of The Joy of Teaching. The event will be held in room 201 of the new Science Building; everyone is welcome.

September 10, 8PM: Political commentator/talk show host Tavis Smiley will be giving a lecture entitled “Advocacy: How to Fight for What You Believe and Make a Difference” in Aycock Auditorium. Call the University Box Office at 334-4849 for ticket information.

(I hope all who are interested get out to see Mr. Smiley, but I will not be attendance as I'll be here instead. A free, outdoor concert sounds right up me and my pregnant wife's alley. And the fact that it's Crooked Fingers sweetens the deal. WUAG-103.1 rules.)

September 14, 7PM: UNCG celebrates Human Rights Week with a free speaker, award-winning writer Anna Rosmus. The presentation will be in the Elliott University Center Auditorium.
