What can I say? Bidness suddenly picked up! That and your faithful narrator is finally suddenly realizing how, when doing an experiment like this one, time seems more and more fleeting.
I just received my commencement assignment. (For those who don't know, the University Registrar's Office actually runs each semester's commencement. Basically, this office of twenty-some drops whatever they normally do so they can dress nicely, arrive early, and help organize/direct/manage the whole illustrious affair.) We've thankfully (??) gotten rid of the heavy, steel sign posts that we used at last commencement. I think we're attempting to replace all the signs with human beings and this year I'll be scampering around the Greensboro Coliseum (mmmmm...I'm liking the extended forcast for Thursday) putting up these newer, lighter flags for our new "greeters" to stand beside and hand out maps. Then I get the nerve-wracking job of being the "go man" for one of the undergraduate lines. That's right! I'm the guy who gets the word and then waves my hands around excitedly to motion the flag-bearer out onto the Coliseum floor. It's a tremendous amount of responsibilty for a guy like me to have.
