Intacto
The description Netflix provides is very misleading. Max von Sydow is hardly in the movie, but he’s good where he is. The movie isn’t really about Federico (Eusebio Poncela) either. If anything it’s mostly about two other characters, Tomás (Leonardo Sbaraglia) and Sara (Mónica López), so be prepared. “Luck vampires” makes for an interesting concept (that’s what sold me to add the movie to my queue), but when the movie starts to bore one begins to wonder if this would have made for a better Twilight Zone episode. The bullfighter (Antonio Dechent) was an interesting character, but I thought the movie would have been better served to replace him with obvious throw-aways (perhaps a non-Spanish speaker? or does this whole luck thing only affect human beings living in that region?) and give the whole “final game” thing a more international, Highlander-esque “There can be only one” feel to it. I was able to predict the ending, which isn't saying much because I'm so fucking smart.
Netflix "stars" rating: 3
[Special note about Netflix "stars" rating: It's all rather absurd, really. Five options that don't really range from "Loved it" to "Hated it". You'd think there would be something rather neutral with 3 stars, something in the middle, but instead you get "Liked it". What's up with that? I mean, sure...I sat through the whole movie. I had a good time watching it and it wasn't something awful like League of Extraordinary Gentlemen or something. The company I watched it with was nice, we had a nice meal during the movie and whatnot. Does all that mean I "Liked it"?]

I can't wait to get Netflix!
Yes, Netflix is great. You won't be disappointed with the service or the selection. You might be disappointed with a movie like Intacto, but you won't be disappointed with Netflix itself.
