Googling Friends 1: Morgan Garcia-Lamarca
I haven’t seen this guy in several years.
And I expect what might happen is that one day my old friend will be bored and curious enough to Goggle his own name. It’s inevitable; everyone does it. Publishing on Blogger has its perks, so I imagine when he does that search this entry is pretty much guaranteed to pop up and perhaps a reconnection will be made. So welcome to a new, semi-regular feature here at SiS! One part a little game I’m playing with old friends; one part a little experiment on Google’s search capabilities.
I first met this guy in the 3rd grade. He was the kid we’d mock for doing book reports on The Fellowship of the Rings while the rest of us were reading Judy Blume. While I was busy pretending to be Duke from G.I. Joe or Optimus from Transformers (what can I say—I liked bossing people around back then), Morgan/Pete was off in some corner memorizing the rules to Dungeons & Dragons. Things got better ‘tween he and I in the 5th grade. (Yo Pete! I actually had a looong conversation with Mr. Kingsbury last year. He hasn’t aged a bit.)
So, nice tatt Pete! I found this pic via some Quebec newspaper. If you haven’t moved up North, I’m mystified about the connection between you and some Canadian newspaper. Explain yourself. Googling your name also came up with this 2002 Half-Iron Man results list were it looks like Santi came in 118th out of 1714. Oh, and is this Melissa leading workshops as Concordia University’s Sustainability Coordinator (check out the June news). Is that the Canadian connection?
At any rate, Morgan Garcia-Lamarca, if you’ve just stumbled onto my little half-acre of cyber-real estate then I bid you welcome. Please send me an email (click my profile) and maybe we can have sit-down and you can meet this guy…
