Hiatus

Unless it hasn’t already been apparent, Satori in Stereo is on a summer hiatus. There is simply waaay too much going on. Classes begin August 15th. You do the math.

Al’s reading. Actually I should say Al’s reading and writing. He’s seen some crappy movies and wants to write reviews, but he’s currently immersed in some John Dunning novel and “can’t be bothered with blogging right now”.

Our resident bhikkhuni is feeling good. I realize I’ve verbally told just about everyone, but haven’t been able to post about it: We’re having a boy! Now the trick becomes determining whether he’s going to be an Olympic swimmer or a musical prodigy. Recently, Annie felt his kick (straight to the diaphragm!) so I’m willing to put some money on the athletic future track.

Apparently I missed EFF’s Blog-A-Thon. Sounded interesting; I look forward to when I’ll have the time to read the winners.

Two more months and Satori in Stereo will officially be a year old. Gotta say this now, I’m pretty glad to be on Blogger. I had a LiveJournal account for about thirty days; it never really seemed to get off the ground. (Not that I’m implying this blog is somehow in the stratosphere or anything.) I guess there are pluses and minuses on both sides. I mean when I’m really feeling catty and judgmental, I really wish I could just retreat to a “Friends Only” option and feel free to gossip like a dejected sorority gal. But then again I’ve never seen a LiveJournal with a Site Meter, so I’m assuming that’s just something you can’t add. That’s too bad for all the LiveJournalists out there ‘cause a few weeks back I finally scratched out some time to dabble around in all the offerings of Site Meter. Like, I can I get URL addresses of visitors and all sorts of cool stuff. It’s grand to be on Blogger.

I’d comment on Westmoreland’s latest, but yo no hablo fascista xenophobica. (Okay, I lied. One comment: Who can see the similar thread? Congress passes a socialist energy bill and Westmoreland laments that citizens have the choice between hiring lazy teenagers or hard-working Hispanics. I guess “free market economy” is just one of those buzz phrases neo-Con Republicans like to preach about but not really practice. Sorta like “compassionate conservatism”.)

A special shout-out to my friend Joe who has moved back to the East Coast, we’re all glad to have you back in this time zone my friend. Joe’s living up in Fred-necks-burg, Virginia so I’m just casting anxious glances towards the calendar (in-between the constant work load) for a good weekend to get up there and blow off some steam.
