Hello to all who have somehow stumbled onto the little waste of bandwidth known as Satori In Stereo! I think this whole Big Link thing is a great idea and I'm greatful for the traffic.
Truth be told, I've been waiting very patiently for this week. It's my understanding that the Big Link lasts a week, yes? Well if this is your first time out to my blog (and let's face it, I've seen my SiteMeter stats...this probably is your first time out to my blog) I hope you'll consider sticking with us until next Friday. Al and I have been saving up ideas and stories and features all for this whole Big Link thing, all in an effort to commit ourselves to more consistent blogging.
So, for starters, as this post's title proclaims...a Big Announcement. [insert drum roll here] Annie, my wife of three years (and loving parter of ten-plus), and I are pregnant! Yes indeedy, Annie and Rick are gonna join the Parents Club some time in early December. We've known since early April when Annie was attending a retreat at the Wat Greensboro, and we're entering our 16th week (4th month) tomorrow. This...uh...development was more than a little unplanned. But Annie looks and feels great. In fact, we're both pretty much blissfully walking on air.
I'm going to add a new feature here to Satori In Stereo: letters to my son/daughter. It's weird, sometimes I feel like I know we're gonna have a boy...sometimes I can only imagine my future as a father to a beautiful daughter. (Yeah, yeah...Chewie's recent post got to me too...) Either way is fine with me, but I think I've finally found some blog-worthy direction in this new feature idea. I suppose I'm being cheesy. I can understand if some are turned off by the idea of a blogging father-to-be, c'est la vie. It's not like you were reading this blog before I made this announcement!

That sounds like a great idea! I can't wait to start linking to your letters. I'm sure it will bring back memories I wish I had written down so many long years ago when I was waiting to meet my son for the first time.
Congrats on the impending parenthood! What a nice Christmas (Hanukkah, Yule, Festivus) gift that will be. :)
Congrats Rick...ThatsWhatzUp...
Know how you feel Rick. I remember how I felt when I found out "we" were pregnant.
Cherish every moment as they grow up real fast. Mine just graduated from high school on May 27 and it seems like only yesterday I was changing his diapers.
I stumbled on here through the Big Link, and I don't know you, but congratulations! I wish you guys the best of luck in the coming months!
Congrats to you and Annie, Rick.
Thanks so much for the support everyone! This Big Link thing (and Greensboro in general) has given Annie and I something to smile about.
