Catch up

Okay, so the story goes like this: The Dutton/Titus Collective did not find itself with the necessary resources to maintain its cable connection. (I'll at least say that made this weekend feel a little more "literate" as all the reading I could do was from *gasp* books and paper!!!) We've now got the free AOHell going, just to cover the basics (at a speed similar to pouring molasses), which will probably mean I won't even turn my home computer on for the next few days until the connection is re-established.

I haven't had a chance to post about the last Greensboro Weblogger Meetup. I felt rushed as I had to drive and deliver something back to Annie that evening, but overall it was very cool to meet new people and chat with familiar faces. The Green Bean was pretty happening that night, I guess that's the second time I've ever stepped foot in there. But it was in the stepping out that I have an anecdote to share. Not only did I bump into a co-worker I always seem to bump into at the weirdest places (I never pegged you for a lucha fan, Bob), but I happened to catch my former ENG 236: Genre Fiction TA reading something about "the Antarctic edition of Survivor". But the other funny thing was Shu said to me as we walked out, "These people should have blogs." You're right as always, Shuster. 'Cause Gerry already does.

Here is my official plug for Project Stepping Stone. I caught Abe Reid and the Spikedrivers at Wild Mags way back when we were getting residual (ie. nasty) hurricane weather. They were just what I needed to hear that time, I thoroughly enjoyed the music.

So I finally get the chance to log into My Yahoo account, scroll through my RSS feeds, and I guess you could say I had my own Shu moment when I read the PressThink headline, Action in Greensboro on Open Source Journalism. Wow. Billy, what were you saying again about Greensboro being better than Atlanta to host the Bloggercon?

In semi-unrelated news, I would definitely donate here...but then I can't even pay my cable bill as it is. Sorry.

I really appreciate your plug for Project Stepping Stone. Abe has a great band and I'm happy to promote him and all the great local bands Stepping Stone hopes to promote in the future. -Billy
